Nikāḥ at ICMG UK Enfield Branch: A Sacred Union in Accordance with ʾAhl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah

Nikāḥ is one of the most beautiful and meaningful acts of worship in Islam. It is not merely a formal contract, but a sacred covenant established before Allah ﷻ, built upon faith, love, mercy, responsibility, and mutual respect.

Allah ﷻ says in the Qur’ān:

“And among His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves, so that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you love and mercy.”    Surah Ar-Rūm, 30:21

At ICMG UK Enfield Branch, we are honoured to offer Nikāḥ services for our Islamic community. Our authorised imams and scholars conduct the Nikāḥ ceremony with care, dignity, and spiritual guidance, ensuring that the process is simple, meaningful, and respectful for the couple and their families.

In Accordance with ʾAhl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah

ICMG UK Enfield Branch gives great attention to ensuring that every Nikāḥ ceremony is conducted in accordance with the principles of ʾAhl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamāʿah. This means that the Nikāḥ is carried out with respect for the guidance of the Qur’ān and Sunnah, the understanding of the Fuqahāʾ, and the recognised principles of Islamic jurisprudence, including Ijmāʿ and Qiyās. Our scholars aim to preserve the dignity, validity, and spiritual meaning of the Nikāḥ by following the mainstream Islamic tradition and by ensuring that the essential requirements of the marriage contract are properly observed.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

“The best marriage is that which is made easiest.”    Ibn Ḥibbān

The Nikāḥ process includes Islamic guidance, confirmation of the essential requirements, the presence of witnesses, the agreement of mahr, and the official performance of the Nikāḥ ceremony. Couples may also receive pre-marital advice and Islamic reminders to help them understand the rights, duties, responsibilities, and blessings of married life.
